Group Riding Guidelines

* The Road Captain is in charge of the ride.

* Be on time for the pre-ride briefing with a full tank and empty bladder!

* If you plan on leaving the group early, notify the Road Captain and the Sweep so we know that there isn't a         problem.

* Rides will be staggered formation, unless otherwise indicated by the Road Captain.

* When someone leaves the group, fill in by moving up diagonally so the group remains in staggered formation.

* Maintain the "2 second" rule for spacing.  This will help prevent autos/trucks from breaking the  formation.

*When passing, the Road Captain will contact the Sweep. The Sweep will secure the lane and the Road Captain will signal for the lane change. ALWAYS LOOK to be sure the lane is clear before moving over!!!!!!

* Spacing between bikes is 2 seconds from the bike in front of you and 1 second from the bike diagonally in front of you.

*If you break down, pull safely off to the shoulder of the road. The Sweep and another rider will stay and assist you.

* Always allow auto/trucks that are entering or exiting the highway to pass through the  line.

*In the event of an accident, the bikes behind you will pull safely over and assist. The bikes in front will continue to a safe location to stop and wait for instruction.

* When pulling onto the shoulder of the road,  stay safely as far right as permissible to allow  the Road Captain a clear view to the rear for safe access back onto the road.

*Obey all traffic rules. If you are caught at a light, DO NOT PANIC!! We will wait/slow down for you to catch up. Should the separated group turn, the last rider will wait at the turn for the remaining group.

* The Road Captain will use a hand signal to  indicate the type of formation. It is the responsibility of all riders to pass this signal to the back.

*If something on the ride makes you uncomfortable, bring it to the attention of the Road Captain at your first opportunity.

* Bikes will be 2 abreast at intersection stops.

* Road obstacles and hazards will be signaled. Riders are expected to continue the signal to the rear of the group.

  * There is a ZERO tolerance policy for ANY substance that affects the ability for one to ride safely. Violaters will not be permitted to continue the ride with the group at that time.

  * EZ Pass allows bikes to move through tolls safer & smoother.

* Make sure you have your required paperwork(DL/Reg/Ins).
